SMART SCOTLAND Awards

SMART awards are provided by the Scottish Government and are open to individuals and to small businesses based in Scotland.

SMART awards were created to improve the creation of new, innovative businesses and to help existing small businesses boost their competitiveness by developing new products and processes.

Assistance is provided in 2 stages with the initial stage as follows: It is competitive and assists individuals and small firms to carry out a technical and commercial feasibility study lasting 6-18 months. Support is made available to successful applicants at 75% of the first £60,000 of eligible costs, with a maximum award of £45,000. Following success at this stage, further support can be applied for.
