NESTA
NESTA was set up with Lottery funding to help people turn
bright ideas into products, services or techniques with
social and commercial benefit. NESTA provides this by inviting
applications from people or businesses with exciting and
original ideas for products, services, processes or techniques..
The scheme provides between 50 and100 awards per year from
the applications submitted. Ideas which demonstrate creativity
and innovation, commercial and social potential, extending
or crossing the boundaries of disciplines or fields, sustainability,
value for money and feasibility are most likely to succeed.
NESTA will help to package financial and non-financial support
for each successful project. This could cover for example,
research and development, securing intellectual property
rights and establishing and developing a business.
Financial
support for any one project is likely to fall within the
range of £5,000 - £50,000 (and in exceptional cases, £100,000)
