From his apprenticeship in shipbuilding, Bob a Chartered Engineer, has covered design work in the fields of naval architecture, mechanical handling, robotics, underwater and underground equipment. He is named inventor on a number of patents and he has managed the control and manufacture of patent policies. Bob has substantial corporate experience mainly in the design field, much at board level, and is a visiting lecturer at Glasgow University. He has established and successfully run a number of businesses of his own. Bob has also chaired an Enterprise Development Trust. Currently Chairman of a new BSI Standard entitled "Process for the Evaluation, securement of intellectual property rights and commercial advancement of inventions"
